The edge and vigor of life fade away Like withered lotus leaves in autumn ponds;What can the ups and downs of glory and disgrace Do to me, after all?

Though my withered frame is thin and frail,The pure authenticity deep in my heart Has never changed, not for a moment.

I guard this tiny inner world of mine,At ease and serene, swaying gracefully in its own light.

Perhaps this little realm hides vast ranges of hills and valleys,Broad and profound;Yet the gentle joy of the mortal world Lingered in my mind,refusing to depart.
